Case History

Project:
Blast and Coat the Largest Water Tank in the Country Inside and Out Using Three Different Coating  Systems

Project Owner:
Martin Hill Reservoir Tank

Description of Work:
TIC had six months to blast and coat a potable water tank 125’ tall and 262’ in diameter. Welders cut through 1.5 – 2” of steel on the side of the tank, creating a 10,000 pound door to move equipment in and out.

The Challenge:
Poor weather conditions and heavily corroded painter rails dramatically reduced their six-month window. Access was built up inside the columnless tank and the TIC finished the job on time and within budget.
